Lippan Kaam or Chittar Kaam is the traditional mural craft of Kutch that can be traced back to centuries. When this craft was used on the exterior to reflect back the harsh sunlight and on the interiors to maximize the effect of candle lights. Lippam kaam uses a dough prepared from animal dung and mud or clay bought from The Rann of Kutch and the lakes in the Kutch region. The patterns are made using clay dough, mirrors are embedded, painted if required and then are left for drying.

Care: Wipe regularly with a soft, clean cotton cloth like a handkerchief. It can be wiped with a wet cloth. Please do not soak in water.
